Lumina Geophysical is proud to announce that Gabriel Gil, Chief Geophysicist at Lumina, will be presenting at the 7th Annual Appalachian Basin Geophysical Symposium (ABGS), hosted by the Geophysical Society of Pittsburgh, on June 2, 2026, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
Gabriel’s presentation, “Application of Spectral Attributes in Carbonate Reservoir Characterization,” will explore how advanced spectral decomposition analysis combined with supervised machine learning techniques can improve reservoir property prediction and enhance the characterization of thin carbonate intervals below conventional seismic resolution.
The workflow presented demonstrates how spectral attributes can support more accurate estimation of effective porosity, helping reduce uncertainty in static models and contributing to more confident exploration and field development decisions in complex geological environments.
We look forward to contributing to the technical discussions at ABGS 2026 and connecting with industry professionals focused on advancing geophysical applications for unconventional resource development.
